The concrete is broken away to expose the re-inforcing cage which will be attached to a horizontal mesh which will form the pile capping and to vertical re-inforcing which will form the abutments of the new bridge. The piling rig standing on the infilled base from which it operates. The auger drills holes and as it is withdraw concrete is pumped through the auger. A steel re-inforcing cage is then lower into the concrete. The pins with yellow protectors on the tops mark the positions of the piles. (Jun, 2015.)
