Our Members have been responding positively to an appeal to help guarantee the Trust’s income by joining the Milestone Club. At the beginning of August 2016, there were 102 subscribers, contributing nearly £1,300 each month, a total which we hope will continue to grow.
As restoration activity steps up along the canal, these donations greatly help the Council of Management plan and fund our projects. This is money from a predictable source, in contrast to the donations, legacies and grants which make up most of WACT’s income.
Another predictable income is members’ subscriptions, but money is mainly allocated for staff and operating costs (which we endeavour to keep as low as possible). We also, of course, greatly value the donations made via the Numbers Game and Localgiving.org initiatives, which also help us plan our spending.
Money from all the above sources is most welcome and vital to the effective operation of the Trust. Information on how to make a donation or leave a legacy to the trust is available in the Donations section of this website.
We invite you to join the Milestone Club, to help give the Trust more confidence in planning restoration projects. As well as knowing you are helping the Trust achieve some financial security, you will benefit from invitations to Members-only special events such as a summer tea party.
To join, please download and return the application form. Or you can request a form to be sent to you by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 01483 505566.
If you are eligible for Gift Aid but have not registered for the scheme, please sign up by filling in and returning a form from the Donations section. Under the Gift Aid scheme, HM Revenue and Customs will give us an extra 25p for every pound you give to the Trust in subscriptions and donations.
